I do a little internet broadcast Monday nights on glitch.fm with the rest of the kids from Lost In Bass. Sometimes we remember to record the show and it subsequently gets posted to the glitch.fm archive server for your listening pleasure.

I’ve also decided that It’s been way too long since I updated this here blog and so I’m making this show available for download. Someday maybe we will have all our archived shows for download over at Lost In Bass but I’m not motivated enough to do that today.

So here it is in two parts. Hour one features myself playing a bunch of chill and weird Dubstep. Hour two has Ali Berger doing his thing.

Happy New Year!

Everybody is doing it so I figured I’d cave and make my own list. 2009 was an amazing year for music imho and it’s always difficult picking a handful of favorites from the crowd. There are some obviously huge releases that didn’t make it onto this list but they made everyone else’s lists so I’m sure you won’t miss out. I wanted this list to be unique and to reflect what I played 2009.

1. Bassnectar- Cozza Frenzy (Amorphous Music/Child’s Play Records)

Amazing full length from one of the biggest DJs in the States right now. Lots of heavy heavy dance floor killers as well as seriously deep head nod shit.

2. Subvert – Speaker Humping (Muti Music)

From on of my favorite labels comes one of my favorite artists who released some of my favorite songs of 2009. Each track on this four track EP a face melter!

3. VibeSquaD – Joyfull Noise (VibeSquaD recordings)

Every LP put out by this guy is amazing and his latest is no exception. His mission in his own words, “i am dedicated to making music that vibrates POSITIVITY, LOVE, and LIGHT… w/ ridiculous amounts of BASS & a nasty-ass beat of course.” Mission accomplished I’d say.

4. Mochipet – Master P On Atari Transformed (Daly City Records)

2009 was a HUGE year for Mochipet and his label Daly City with various LPs released and all kinds of EPs with some of the biggest names in bass music giving the remix treatment to Mochi’s already Bangin’ tunes. I must admit to a little bit of favoritism going on here in picking this release. It features remixes from a former roommate, Vinyl Blight, and also Memory9 a man who’s rocked a few parties here to the delight of many. Also including the various remix parts in this bundle is worth some bonus points.

5. Various – An-ten-nae Presents Acid Crunk Vol. 2 (Muti Music)

Muti does it again. This compilation gathers the most talented producers from around the globe and packages them up nice and neatly for you. If you are just getting into this sound or you’re looking for some new names to check out this is a great starting point. Essential.

6. PANTyRAiD – The Sauce (Marine Parade)

This release got a lot of attention when it was released but for me it lived up to the hype. Marty Party and Ooah team up to form PANTyRAid and the results are beautiful. Sit back and smoke an ounce to this one. A Solid release with a unique spacious sound. My two favorite cuts off this are One Mo! and Beba.

7. Deework – Under Dev- (In Vitro Records)

Probably a little too left field for most dance floors this is a great experimental glitchy EP with some seriously crazy glitched out vocals. This one might take you a few listens to fully appreciate but will continue to grow on you with each one.

8. Eskmo – Let Them Sing (Planet Mu)

Love the Swagger on this one. This is one of my favorite releases from a man who accomplished many big things this year, including touring with STS9. Eskmo getting some much deserved recognition with this release on the famed Planet Mu imprint .

9. NastyNasty – The Reef [single] (Frite Nite)

A great release here with a Slugabed remix that absolutely kills it.

10. Various – The Wonky EP (W.E. Recordings)

Great releases from HD4000, The Widdler, Kid Logic, and Bellybelle. All sorts of interesting sounds and rhythms on this 2009 late comer.

I can’t believe it’s been since April that I put out a mix! So here it is, the long over due new studio mix Fuzzy and Ruff. Compiled and Glitched in Live 8. I’ve split this mix into the two parts that should play seamlessly back to back.

Part one, track one on the cd, is entitled fuzzy and consists of 40 mins. of what I consider to be some of the best Glitch Hop currently available commercially.

Part two, track two on the cd, entitled Ruff is about 16 mins of me mashing up some of my favorite 140 bpm Breakbeat, Dubstep, Dancehall and Bassline in a way I find to be quite interesting.

Please note that these files are 320kbps mps files. However all tracks are actually .flac or .wav originally and are uncompressed on the CD. If you’d like the full uncompressed CD version either find me in the Boston clubs these next few weeks or hit me up online with your address. I’ll do my best to mail it to you in a timely fashion.

As i currently upload media files to the server i’ve decided to attempt some moblie blogging, from my toilet, with the G1′s postbot app. Lol

So I’ve been completely neglecting this blog, the last update was April 11th! So of course the day before I’m planning on posting my new studio mix I see news of a WordPress security hole. Nerdk0r3 is also hosted on a large and cheap web host which is often the target of attacks itself. These two factors had me expecting the worst for my lonely little blog.

I’ve already had to start from scratch once before because of an attack. Fortunately that experience caused me to take several rather annoying and tedious steps to harden Nerdk0r3 this time around. Let me tell you friends that was time well spent! Logging in today for the first time in months, clicking one button, and being updated to the newest release of WP was simply amazing.

This is great news for you because now I can focus on posting my new mix instead of replacing old content. There’s still a good chance you won’t see it posted here today. Simply because of the fact that I’m at work and functioning on two hours sleep. I can promise you this much. I’ll either be napping or working on getting that mix posted. No playing video games on my phone today. Damn you Parallel Kingdom!!!
